The creator's words

“I was born and raised in Milan and developed an incredible affection for this city, to the point of feeling lucky just to have been born here. Milan has given me so much and has shaped who I am today. I clearly remember exploring the city with my mother at just 4 years old, on a creaky wooden tram. Since then I have returned to the same places 10, 20, 30 and even 40 years later, only to see them change, yet realise that the Genius Loci, the spirit of the place, was still there, unchanged. For years I thought that one day I would create something to show the world how beautiful this city is and how much I love it. That day has finally come.”

The brand

The scent of a place is an essential part of how we perceive reality: it affects our mood and can resurface unexpectedly years later. Like every major city in the world, Milan has a complex past and has gone through many changes. It has been the stage of many significant historical events, as well as of trade and the arts. From the 16th century Milan was ruled by France, Spain and Austria, which explains the many Austrian, French and, to a lesser extent, Spanish influences on Milanese cuisine, dialect and architecture. No surprise, then, that a city like Milan can inspire hundreds of different perfumes, reflecting its many-sided “personality”: its cosmopolitan pace and its classical and Gothic architecture, its iconic tradition and fashionable lifestyle, its careful eye on the past and its dreamy gaze towards the future.
